History.

The idea of a Bible School in Westmoreland County had long been a vision on several pastors in the area. Dr. Paul King, Director of the ORU School of LifeLong Education's Bible Institute program, contacted Pastor Sheldon Moore, a former colleague in ministry, to see if he was willing to start a program in Greensburg. Thus, the vision began to take form. The ORU Bible Institute program is designed for Christians who want intensive training in Biblical Studies, Theology, and Practical Ministries. With the help of Dr. King, Pastor Moore, Georgia Ann Henretty, and Linda King began to work on laying the foundation of the Westmoreland School of Ministry. Thanks to the generosity of Liberty Christian Church and Pastor Dale Adams, the first classes were held in September of 2006 in the old Pentecostal Holiness Church on Sidney Street in Greensburg.

As the program grew, and it became apparent that we would have to leave the Sidney Street location, one of our faculty and board members, Rev. Mike Stahl, Pastor of Victorious Life Church, opened up two classrooms and office space for us to use when they purchased their new building at 214 Frye Farm Road. Since then, in an effort to promote unity in the body of Christ, we have offered classes at various locations such as Word of Life Church in Greensburg, PA, the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Irwin, PA, and Christian Fellowship Center in Jeannette, PA. Our desire is to work with the Pastors of local churches to help train those in their congregations who are called to leadership and ministry. In 2018, the Westmoreland School of Ministry moved back to their original location on Sidney Street.
