What is Westmoreland School of Ministry? 
 
In joint relationship with the Oral Roberts University School of LifeLong Education, Westmoreland School of Ministry is a unique program designed to provide training in biblical studies and practical ministry for those who choose not to leave the area to attend a traditional bible school. Whether you are a Pastor, lay leader, or just interested in taking clases for the work of the church or personal ministry, WSM is for you. Courses offered at WSM are developed by Oral Roberts University and are taught by local Master's degreed faculty. Completed coursework may be applied toward advanced standing in one of ORU's fully accredited bachelor's degree programs. more....
 

Fall Course Offerings

 

Old Testament Survey

A historical survey of the Old Testament. Special attention is given to the cultural background, to the theological and contextual perspectives, and to the practical application of major Old Testament themes.

Discipleship and Small Groups

A study of how to develop small group programs and direct a discipleship ministry within the church. Topics include small group principles, dynamics, and problems encountered. Practical guidelines for implementation are offered.

Youth Ministry

Designed to educate and equip leaders to be youth ministers in the local church. Focus is on understand-ing the foundations of ministry, roles and relationships of the youth minister, and administrative principles and strategies.

Evangelism

A course dealing with the evangelistic dimensions of the pastoral ministry in preaching, counseling, teaching, visitation, and training the lay leaders for outreach.

Admissions
Applications are now being accepted for the Fall Term. A one-time $25.00 non-refundable application fee is required.
 
Tuition and Cost

Comparable to community college tuition, each 3 credit course is $210.00 per term. Students may audit courses at a lower tuition rate. Payment plan and scholarship information is available by calling the office.

 

Administration

ORU maintains admission applications and official transcripts for each student. Students completing classes at WSM are eligible for advanced standing in one of ORU's fully accredited college degree programs. Credit may be transferred to another institiution or used for ministerial credientials depending on major or requirements of the program. Classes are taught by Master's degree faculty

 

Books

The college level curriculum is developed and maintained by ORU. Texts and curriculum materials are ordered and distributed by WSM and are on average $50.00 per class.
