Empowering Ministry,

Impacting Lives,

Education from on High

Supporting education and spiritual growth.

At Westmoreland School of Ministry, in addition to our own diploma and certificate programs, courses are fully accredited, so credit hours are easily transferable into bachelor degree programs at other colleges and universities.

Our Fall 2022 semester will begin on September 19th and run through December 12th, and we are blessed to share this time with students! Reminder to all students: Our staff are always available for whatever needs, questions, or concerns you may experience along your academic journey.

Welcome to Westmoreland School of Ministry (WSM), a local Bible Institute in joint-relation with Oral Roberts University (ORU)!

Founded in 2006 by Pastor Sheldon Moore, WSM was birthed out of a vision to bring a Bible college to Western Pennsylvania to train and equip the body of Christ for those who feel a call into the ministry and want to impact the culture for Christ. WSM offers 19 different credit certificates in Theology, Biblical Studies, Christian Workers, Missions, and Christian Caregiving. We also offer an Advanced 33-credit Certificate of Theological Studies. Classes may be taken for audit or for credit, and our tuition is extremely affordable at only $80 per credit.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE is September 10th, and the last day to add or drop a course without being charged is October 2, 2022.

Fall 2022 Courses

To be admitted to the WSM, students are required to provide a pastoral recommendation and be a member in good standing of a local church. A high school diploma or GED is required for all students aged 18 and over. Prospective students are required to complete and sign the Application for Admission, which includes their agreement with the ORU Code of Honor Pledge. Individuals will pay a one-time application fee of $25.00.

Programs of Study

Credit hours for courses taken at WSM can be transferred into bachelor degree programs at other colleges and universities. In addition to being able to transfer credits, we provide a “Diploma of Theological Studies” and numerous certificate programs. And all of our courses can be audited for a small fee.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

Because federal and state financial aid is not available for the ORU Bible Institute program, the Westmoreland School of Ministry desires to keep tuition rates low. Scholarships offered by WSM are available but limited. However, it is the desire of WSM to develop additional scholarships for those who desire to train for ministry but have a limited income. To apply for a scholarship, a student is required to fill out a scholarship application and demonstrate financial need. Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis for two semesters provided the student maintains at least a "B" grade in all classes.
